Saane Privacy Policy

Saane is a voice notes app that turns what you say into notes and tasks. It is built to keep your data on your iPhone. This policy explains what the app touches, what stays on the device, and the one thing that does not.
What stays on your iPhone
Voice recordings. Saane records audio with the microphone only while you are recording a note, from the moment you tap record until you tap Stop and save. Recordings are saved in the app's own folder on your iPhone. They are never uploaded anywhere.
Transcripts. Recordings are transcribed on the device using Apple's speech recognition. No audio or text is sent to a server for transcription.
Notes and tasks. Saane uses Apple Intelligence on the device to pull tasks, titles and due dates out of a transcript. This runs entirely on your iPhone. Notes and tasks are stored as plain files in the app's folder, which you can browse in the Files app.
Calendar. If you turn on Calendar sync, Saane adds events for tasks that have a due date and reads those same events back so a date you change in Calendar shows on the task. It does not read, change or send any other event. You can turn this off at any time in iOS Settings.
Saane has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no cloud sync. Deleting a note deletes its recording, transcript and tasks from the device. Deleting the app deletes everything.
What leaves your iPhone
Purchases. The Founder membership is sold through Apple's App Store. To check whether your purchase is active, Saane uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives a random identifier generated for your device, your App Store purchase receipt, and basic device information such as iOS version and country. It never receives your recordings, transcripts, notes or tasks. RevenueCat's policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple handles payment. Saane never sees your name, email, payment card or Apple Account.
Your rights
Your notes are files on your device. You can export, move or delete them at any time through the Files app or by deleting a note in Saane. To remove the purchase record held by RevenueCat, contact us and we will delete it.
Children
Saane is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
